Bibliotheca Carmelita Nova is an electronic resource available on open access that focusses on the history of the Carmelite Order with particular emphasis on Carmelite authors and their works.
The database is organised around two main bodies that defined the entries: Carmelite Authors and Manuscripts containing Carmelite Texts.
Therefore the data records related to the authors contain information about the Carmelites such as important dates, short biographies, works referred to in manuscripts or edition, works without references, electronic resources, and a selected bibliography. The data records concerning the manuscripts are mostly composed by the catalogues of the library or archive, where they are now conserved, and, when possible, a link to electronic resources. Bibliotheca Carmelita Nova does not contain specific entries concerning convents or provinces.
